About the role:
We are looking for a strategic financial leader to join our investment company as Head of Finance (CFO) . This role requires a sophisticated professional who can combine financial expertise with strategic thinking, drive financial performance, and support our investment activities while ensuring robust financial controls and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned with company's investment objectives.
Provide strategic financial insights to the Board and investment committee.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Drive financial performance and optimize capital structure.
Support M&A activities , due diligence, and investment evaluations.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Oversee all financial operations including accounting, treasury, and tax.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting (IFRS/local GAAP).
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.
Prepare board materials, investor reports, and management presentations.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Investment Portfolio Management:
Financial oversight of portfolio companies and investment vehicles.
Monitor portfolio performance and provide financial analysis.
Support portfolio companies with financial strategy and optimization.
Coordinate with fund administrators and custodians.
Ensure compliance with investment mandates and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Development:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team (5-10 professionals).
Foster professional development and technical excellence.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote collaboration across investment and operations teams.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (CNB, AIFMD, MiFID II).
Maintain robust AML/KYC procedures.
Oversee tax compliance and optimization strategies.
Manage financial and operational risks.
Coordinate external audits and regulatory inspections.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education & Experience:
Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting (MBA/CFA is a strong plus).
Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) highly valued.
10-15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
Proven track record in investment management , private equity, or financial services.
Experience with fund structures , portfolio management, and investment analysis.
Background in Big 4 or top-tier financial institutions is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
Deep understanding of IFRS, financial modeling, and valuation techniques.
Strong knowledge of investment vehicles and fund structures.
Expertise in regulatory compliance (AIFMD, MiFID II, CNB regulations).
Advanced financial analysis and strategic planning capabilities.
Proficiency in financial systems and tools (Bloomberg, Reuters, ERP systems).
Fluent English (C1/C2 level) - essential for international stakeholders.
Czech language is beneficial but not mandatory.
